CANOE brewpub
history

CANOE Brewpub, Marina and Restaurant, located on the waterfront in Victoria's active inner harbour, is one of the city's "must experience" destinations for locals and visitors alike.

Our building, originally named The City Lights Building, was erected in 1894 to house the coal fired electric generators that powered Victoria’s streetlights. Over the decades, the building has seen many uses and has stood as a proud heritage landmark on the downtown waterfront.

In 1996 the building underwent a major $6,000,000 interior and exterior timber frame restoration, retrofit and rejuvenation.

Today, CANOE’s soaring timber frame and rustic brick architecture create a vibrant atmosphere and provides a versatile setting for gatherings large or small.

Come enjoy the reasons CANOE has become the spot locals take their out of town guests!
